Sapphire is also a variant of the corundum mineral class. This is why this gemstone is closely related to ruby since the crystallization process takes place and naturally any gemstone can be created since any color can be taken up by the stone. If the crystallization results in red color, then gemstone are classified as a ruby, but if it takes up any other color, it is known as a Sapphire. This is why the colors in which you can find this gemstone range from Pink, blue, green, yellow, and even colorless! 

Since it also belongs to the same mineral class, it has pretty same properties when we compared it and Ruby. All the blue is the most common color in which you can find a Sapphire, but it is found in many other colors as well across Sri Lanka, Thailand, Burma, India, and Australia. It is a very fancy stone, and this is the reason why it symbolizes friendship and a good bond. 

When we talk about blue gemstones, Sapphire is no doubt the most valuable one out of all of them. This is because it has hardness properties just as same as Ruby, but it can even be synthesized in an artificial manner, and this activity is mainly something which is really famous in France.
